Summer Temporary Position as Treatment Assistant at SiS

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS youth home Klarälvsgården receives non-school-attending boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminal behavior and substance abuse. We are tasked with receiving boys with an increased need for psychiatric interventions.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment assistant at SiS.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth towards new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth and clients, and you are responsible for the foundation of daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You will contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth and clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are according to a schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.

As a summer temporary worker at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You should have:

• Completed and approved upper secondary education
• Driving license B
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing as the work may involve some documentation and contact with other authorities
• Experience in youth-related work or work with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, HVB operations, or from care and social services.
• At least a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education that corresponds to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.*

*Exceptions to the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).

Meritorious:

• Experience working with our target group of boys aged 16-21 years.

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathy, and the ability to create good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.

The position is a fixed-term employment from approximately week 25 to week 32.
